I'm A SOVAS Nominee!

This month an awesome thing happened!

I had the surprising honor of being nominated for Outstanding Radio Commercial Campaign – TV or Streaming – Best Voiceover by the Society of Voice Arts and Sciences (SOVAS) for my work as the spokesperson for Newport Aquarium. The commercials were produced and directed by Animal Instinct Advertising, and you can hear one of the spots below. Nominees were chosen by professional judges in the voiceover community, so it means a lot.

If you’re not familiar with SOVAS, they’re a non-profit organization that globally connects voice actors and the voiceover community (talent agents, casting directors, content producers, labor organizations, teachers, and buyers). They offer training, education, mentoring, networking, and job opportunities and have fantastic newsletters which keep you up to date – this is so important as the marketplace is continually evolving.

The SOVAS awards will take place on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles.

I’d also like to shout out Greg Newberry of Animal Instinct Advertising who hired me for the Newport Aquarium campaign. He’s a terrific producer/director, great soul, and we always have a great time recording.
